Chatra, May 26: In the Naxal-affected Hindikala village of Kunda police station area, a father and son were brutally killed on charges of being police informers. The harrowing incident occurred on Saturday night when an armed Naxal squad arrived in the village, instigating fear among the residents by firing shots into the air.
According to reports, the militants barged into the home of Biffa Oraon, accusing him and his son of collaborating with the police. The duo was subjected to severe beating before being fatally shot. After the assailants departed, villagers promptly informed the authorities, prompting police station in-charge Nitesh Kumar Prasad and his team to rush to the scene.
The bodies of the deceased father and son were subsequently transported to Chatra Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. It is worth noting that on May 10, 2024, police conducted a raid based on confidential information at the residence of Ganesh Ganjhu and Jitendra Ganjhu in Hindiyakala village. The raid resulted in the confiscation of firearms and ammunition, including INSAS rifle bullets and pistol rounds. Allegations arose from the militants that the father and son had tipped off the police about the weapons stored in Ganesh and Jitendra’s home.
