Koderma, May 26: An incident of hooliganism involving a coach attendant unfolded at Koderma railway station, where passengers were brutally assaulted on platforms 6 and 7 of the Shipra Express. Following the incident, the Government Railway Police (GRP) swiftly responded, arresting four suspects implicated in the assault. The video capturing the altercation has since gone viral on social media platforms.

The victims, identified as Suman Kumar and Pankaj Kumar, were passengers traveling from Indore to Howrah without confirmed tickets. Upon boarding the train from Gaya to Howrah, they approached the Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) seeking seating arrangements. However, the TTE purportedly informed them of no available seats. Subsequently, a nearby coach attendant purportedly directed them to vacant seats in coach compartments B-1 and B-2, promising to assist with seat allocation.

Later, the same attendant allegedly reneged on the arrangement, demanding Rs 3,000 per person for travel. Dissatisfied, the passengers lodged a complaint with the TTE, who suggested disembarking at Koderma station. Disagreements ensued, leading to a physical altercation upon the train’s arrival at Koderma.

Witnesses reported that six to seven attendants ambushed the passengers, assaulting them with belts and pilfering their belongings. After the altercation, the victims reported the incident to Railway Police, resulting in the arrest of the implicated attendants.
