Navratri celebrations at Gujarati Sanatan Samaj Jamshedpur begins today

Jamshedpur, Sep 22: The Gujarati Sanatan Samaj (GSS), Bistupur, is all set to celebrate the Navratri festival with grandeur and devotion from September 22 to October 2. The 11-day celebration will feature daily religious rituals along with a series of cultural events designed to engage children, youth, and women alike.

The festival will begin on September 22 with a Prabhatpheri, Hari Naam Sankirtan, and a grand Aarti to mark the inauguration. From that day onwards, Goddess Lakshmi will be worshipped daily. The evenings will come alive from 9:30 p.m. with Garba-Dandiya, which is expected to be the main attraction of the celebrations.

A variety of cultural competitions and programs have been scheduled throughout the festival. The GSS Got Talent contest will be held on September 23, followed by a musical story presentation and independent talent showcase on September 24. An App Quest Quiz will take place on September 25, while singing and dance competitions for different age groups are scheduled for September 26. A dedicated dance competition will be organized on September 27, and an environment-themed musical performance will take place on September 28.

The festivities continue with an evening of dance and drama on September 29. On September 30, the community will witness a Mahaarati, Shobha Yatra, and religious tableau. A debate and fashion show will be held on October 1.

The celebrations will conclude on October 2 with Mahaarati, Navratri award distribution, and a grand cultural evening. Organisers said this year’s programs have been designed to ensure enthusiastic participation from all age groups.
