Jamshedpur, Jan 2: A case of a married woman’s mysterious death has surfaced from Sonari police station area of Jamshedpur, creating panic in the locality.

Saloni Mukhi was found hanging inside a house located at Panchwati Nagar, Road No. 2. Following the incident, her family has termed the death suspicious and demanded a thorough investigation into the role of her in-laws.

According to the family, Saloni was married to Umang Mukhi in 2022 with mutual consent. However, within a few months of the marriage, changes were noticed in her behavior.

She reportedly remained withdrawn and appeared mentally distressed. Due to ongoing marital discord, she had been living at her elder sister’s house for the past several months instead of staying with her husband.
Family members stated that on the night of the incident, Saloni had dinner as usual and went to sleep. The next morning, when the room was opened, she was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

The shocking discovery led to chaos in the family and the neighborhood.

Adding to the suspicion, Saloni’s husband Umang Mukhi has reportedly been absconding since the incident.

Her family alleges that this is not a simple case of suicide and claims that other members of the in-laws’ family are also missing after the incident.

On receiving information, Sonari police reached the spot and initiated legal formalities to send the body for post-mortem examination. However, the victim’s family refused to allow the post-mortem, demanding the immediate arrest of the husband and alleging police inaction. They insisted that the matter be investigated as a possible case of abetment or foul play.

Police officials stated that efforts are being made to counsel the family and that the investigation is underway, keeping all aspects of the case in consideration.
