Minor recovered and lover arrested after five months of absconding

Palamu: Police in Palamu recovered a minor who had been missing for five months with her lover. The duo had run away from home and were residing in Surat city.

The family reported the incident to the police, prompting Mohammadganj police to seek assistance from Surat police in recovering the absconding lover and the minor.

The couple was returning from Surat to Mohammadganj under police pressure when they were arrested near Mohammadganj station. The arrested youth, identified as Rahul Kumar Gupta alias Guddu, hails from Ghuriya-Pipra village in Jamhaur police station, Aurangabad district, Bihar. Rahul was accused of abducting the minor with the intent of marriage.

He was sent to Medininagar jail, while the minor underwent a medical examination in Medininagar. The accused, who is married with a child, is under investigation by the police. The case was initially reported on August 21, and Mohammadganj police had filed an FIR against Rahul Kumar Gupta based on the family’s complaint.
