Minor gang-raped in Ranchi, 3 accused arrested

Ranchi: A case of gang-rape of a minor has come to light in Tatisilwe police station area of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The police have arrested three accused in the gang-rape case. The victim is a resident of Ormanjhi police station area who came to her sister’s house in Tatisilve area.

According to reports, the minor was going to her sister’s house from Ormanjhi but taking a lift from strangers proved to be too expensive for her. After reaching Tatisilwe area, the criminals took her to Dumartoli forest and gang-raped her. The victim was also threatened by the accused not to reveal the matter to anyone. After the threat, the victim became very scared.

However, on being questioned by the family members, she disclosed her woes, following which the family members reached Tatisilwe police station and informed them about the whole matter. Acting on the complaint, police took action and arrested the three accused.

The accused have been identified as Amit Mahato, Ashish Mahato and Lagan Lal Mahato.

The incident occurred on September 4 but the police was informed on the night of September 5.
