Jamshedpur, Oct. 26: Jharkhand�food�and civil�supplies minister Saryu Rai has ordered the State Food Department secretary�to keep record of bulk arrival of different kinds of food grains in the state and their despatch to different parts of Jharkhand.
The directive was issued in the wake of the skyrocketing pulse prices.
Acting on the orders of the minister, his personal secretary mentioned via a letter that Jharkhand faces an acute scarcity of food grains and its necessary to take stock of the situation as production is not adequate.
In a letter sent to department secretary, the minister noted that currently the state government doesn�t have any effective remedy to control the food supply and distribution.
According to the letter, the department should take up the issue and set a long-term goal to resolve such crises in future.
Minister also asked the department to provide him with the figures regarding the current pulses production situation in the state and how it can be increased in near future.
