Jamshedpur: Mines Division Noamundi beat Shared Services by 49-48 points in the final to win the Inter Divisional Basketball Championship conducted by sports department of Tata Steel at Basketball Court, JRD Tata Sports Complex on Friday, October 13.
9 units including West Bokaro, Shared Services, Iron Makings, Long Products, Flat Products, OMQ, Engg & Projects, TSK Kalinganagar, ISWP participated in the championship.
Earlier in the third place match West Bokaro defeated Flat Products by 33 to 5 points.
Best player of the Championship was awarded to Siddharth Mohanty of Mines Division.
Chief Guest for the prize distribution function was Amit Kumar, Head (Mechanical Maintenance), Tata Steel along with Bagicha Singh, Sr. Coach sports department, Tata Steel.
Ram Kumar, Subodh Kumar, Yogesh Pandey, Rajan Singh, Rakesh Mahato and Ravi Rao were the officials and conducted the entire matches of the above championships.
On the occasion Unit Representatives, T V Rao, J Behera, Gautam Acharjee, RR Singh, Sebiraj Paul and Sanjay Mishra were present. Avinash Kumar, Sr. Manager Sports conducted the entire championship with the support of Satish Singh, Ajit Singh, B K Jena, Punam Kumari, Renu Bhaduriya, Arun Sinha and his staffs team of JRD Tata Sports Complex.
