Matric and Inter exams: Team inspects Jamshedpur centres to curb malpractice

Jamshedpur: A team of senior officials, including ADM Law and Order Aniket Sachan, Dhalbhum SDO Shatabdi Majumdar, Ghatsila SDO Sunil Chandra, Ghatsila LRDC Neet Nikhil Surin, Dhalbhum LRDC Gautam Kumar, along with all BDOs and COs, conducted surprise inspections at various JAC board examination centers to ensure smooth and malpractice-free conduct of the annual secondary and intermediate examinations.

The district administration has taken stringent measures to maintain law and order and to ensure the integrity of the examination process. Special directives have been issued to all static and patrolling magistrates as well as police personnel deployed at the centers to ensure a strict vigil against any form of malpractice. Any student caught engaging in unfair means will face stringent action as per examination rules.

The annual secondary (Matric) examination is being held in the first shift from 9:45 AM to 1:00 PM, while the Intermediate examination (Arts, Science, and Commerce) is scheduled in the second shift from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. The examinations are being conducted across 71 centers in the district, with 26 centers in Ghatsila subdivision and 45 in Dhalbhum for the Matric examination. Similarly, for Intermediate exams, 12 centers are in Ghatsila and 23 in Dhalbhum, totaling 35 centers.

This year, 25,380 students are appearing for the 10th board exams, while 22,256 students are registered for the Intermediate exams, including 13,595 in the Arts stream, 4,697 in Science, and 3,964 in Commerce.

During the surprise inspections, senior officials scrutinized examination halls to check for any signs of malpractice. The inspection teams interacted with invigilators to ensure that they were adhering strictly to the examination guidelines laid down by JAC. Additionally, students were informed about the consequences of engaging in unfair means.

ADM Law and Order Aniket Sachan stated, “We are committed to maintaining the sanctity of the examination process. Any attempt to compromise the fairness of the exams will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty of malpractice.”

To maintain a secure environment at all examination centers, police personnel have been strategically deployed. The administration has also appointed static and patrolling magistrates to monitor the situation continuously. The coordination between district administration, education department officials, and law enforcement agencies has been exemplary, ensuring a conducive environment for students to perform without stress.

Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal has directed all officers to remain vigilant throughout the examination period and to carry out continuous monitoring to prevent any untoward incidents. He emphasized the importance of fair examinations in shaping the future of students and highlighted the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards malpractice.

The district administration’s proactive approach and rigorous inspections have been well-received by parents and students alike, who appreciate the efforts being made to ensure a transparent and fair examination process.
