Jamshedpur: In a heartwarming celebration of Indian cultural values, the students of KPS Kadma, from Standard 3 to 9, observed Matri Pitri Pujan Diwas on Monday, 29th January 2024. The event took place in the ground floor auditorium from 9:20 am to 10:30 am and was graced by a galaxy of dignitaries, including Manorama Nair, the Chairperson; Sharmila Mukherjee, Principal; and Alamelu Ravishankar, Head Mistress.
The proceedings commenced with a warm welcome extended to the parents, setting the tone for an event that aimed to instill and promote Indian cultural values among school children. The students commenced the ceremony by lighting the lamp and delivering a soulful welcome song, leaving the audience spellbound and thoroughly mesmerized.
Manorama Nair, the esteemed Chairperson, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the invaluable role parents play in a child’s life—a sentiment echoed by many as one of the best gifts bestowed by God. The central theme of the celebration focused on the deep connection between children and their parents, and the need to express gratitude and reverence towards them.
In a touching display of devotion, the students engaged in various rituals to honor their parents. This included offering tilak, garlands, and showering flowers, performing aarti, and expressing their heartfelt feelings towards their parents. The atmosphere became emotionally charged, with tears of gratitude and love flowing freely, creating a truly poignant spectacle.
The celebration served as a meaningful way to strengthen the bonds within families and instill essential values such as respect, obedience, and humility in the younger generation. The act of worshiping parents was not just a symbolic gesture but a powerful tool to reinforce the importance of family ties and cultural values.
