Jamshedpur: In a commendable initiative, a function was organized on Monday at the Sakchi police station premises in Jamshedpur for the distribution of lost mobile phones. A total of 351 lost mobile phones found their way back to their owners during this camp, bringing immense joy and relief to the individuals who thought their devices were lost forever.
The distribution ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including SSP Kishore Kaushal, City SP Mukesh Lunayat, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, DSP CCR Animesh Gupta, and the police station in-charge of the urban area. The event not only celebrated the success of reuniting people with their lost belongings but also highlighted the proactive efforts of the Jamshedpur Police in resolving public issues.
Faces lit up with happiness as individuals discovered their lost mobile phones at the distribution ceremony. Many expressed their gratitude, stating that they had not anticipated the recovery of their devices. The effort undertaken by the Jamshedpur Police was acknowledged as the driving force behind the successful retrieval of lost mobile phones.
SSP Kishore Kaushal took the opportunity to congratulate the entire team involved in the initiative. In his address, he mentioned that this marked the seventh phase of the distribution ceremony, and it was his first time participating. Drawing from personal experience, SSP Kaushal emphasized the challenges individuals face when they lose their mobile phones and praised the constant efforts of the police force to alleviate such public problems.

The SSP assured the community that the Jamshedpur Police would continue their dedicated efforts in returning lost belongings to their rightful owners. He highlighted that a total of 1788 mobile phones had been successfully returned through similar initiatives.

To further streamline the process of reporting lost mobile phones, the Jamshedpur Police introduced a convenient method. Individuals were instructed to save the mobile number 9006123444 issued by the police on their devices. By sending a message with words like “HI,” “HELLO,” “JOHAR,” or “HELP” to this number, a link to a Google form would appear. This form required users to input essential information, including their local police station, name, address, mobile number, and upload an ID card or photo of the mobile bill or mobile box. Once submitted, the police would initiate the search for the lost mobile phone and notify the owner through their registered email upon successful retrieval.
The introduction of this efficient and user-friendly system reflects the commitment of the Jamshedpur Police to leverage technology for the benefit of the community, ensuring a swift and hassle-free process for recovering lost possessions. The success of the mobile phone retrieval camp stands as a testament to the dedication and effectiveness of the police force in Jamshedpur.
