Celebration of Martyr Nirmal Mahato’s 75th birth anniversary in Kadma Uliyan

Jamshedpur: The 75th birth anniversary of Martyr Nirmal Mahato was commemorated with great enthusiasm on Wednesday in Kadma Uliyan. Education Minister Ramdas Soren graced the event as the chief guest and addressed the gathering. “Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) fought relentlessly for the rights of the tribals and natives of Jharkhand. The journey initiated by Martyr Nirmal Mahato and Dishom Guru Shibu Soren has borne fruit in the form of our state,” he said.

Soren further highlighted the sacrifices made for Jharkhand’s formation. “After Nirmal Mahato’s martyrdom, Shibu Soren carried forward his legacy, which culminated in the creation of a separate state. Today, Nirmal Mahato’s birth anniversary is celebrated across states like Bihar, Bengal, and Odisha. The JMM is steadfast in fulfilling his dreams,” he affirmed.
Reflecting on the state’s progress, Soren remarked, “It has been 24 years since Jharkhand’s formation. While BJP ruled for 18 of those years, it never prioritized the welfare of the people. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the Mahagathbandhan government, we are witnessing rapid development in education, health, and employment sectors, bringing smiles to the people of Jharkhand.”
The event saw speakers applauding Nirmal Mahato’s role in the Jharkhand movement, urging everyone to work together to realize his vision. A vibrant Chhau dance performance added cultural richness to the celebration.
Continuous Tributes Samadhi Sthal
A steady stream of visitors paid homage to Martyr Nirmal Mahato at his samadhi sthal throughout the day. Leaders, workers, and members from political and social organizations, including JMM, AJSU, Congress, and RJD, actively participated in the celebrations. Attendees paid their respects by garlanding his life-size statue and offering tributes at the samadhi sthal. The event underscored the widespread admiration for Nirmal Mahato’s contributions to Jharkhand’s struggle and development.
Tributes Paid to Martyr Nirmal Mahato at Chamaria Guest House
An event to honour Martyr Nirmal Mahato was held at 11:45 a.m. near Chamaria Guest House in Bistupur, where leaders, workers, and the public gathered to pay their respects by garlanding his statue. Political figures from JMM, BJP, and other parties joined in, with slogans like “Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Amar Rahe” and “Jab Tak Suraj Chand Rahega, Nirmal Dada Tera Naam Rahega” echoing through the atmosphere.
Speakers at the event reflected on Nirmal Mahato’s sacrifice and his pivotal role in the Jharkhand movement. “We must pledge to uphold his ideals and work towards fulfilling his dreams,” a participant stated. The program was a testament to the enduring respect for Mahato’s contributions.
Prominent attendees included Minister Ramdas Soren, MLA Savita Mahato, MLA Mangal Kalindi, senior JMM leaders Pawan Singh, Mohan Karmakar, and others such as former MP Suman Mahato, Sheikh Badruddin, and Astik Mahato. Hundreds of supporters joined the tribute, creating a heartfelt homage to the revered leader.
