Mango Municipal Corporation to launch holding tax collection drive

Jamshedpur, March 22: Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) is going to launch a drive to collect holding tax from the citizens of Mango. A deadline of March 31 has been set for the citizens to pay the pending holding tax dues. In case the citizens do not pay holding tax by this month end, they will have to pay penalty at the rate of 12 per cent of the holding tax dues, sources said.

Sources further informed that citizens availing illegal water connection should get the same regularized by 31st March or else they should be ready to pay Rs 25,000 as penalty in addition to the water connection charges.

The MMC officials said several shop owners of Baliguma, Pardih and adjoining localities had not applied for trade licence. Such traders should be ready to pay fine in case they do not get trade licence before 31st March, officials said.
