Lens on illegal sale of edible oil, spices at Dhalbhumgarh

Ghatshila, January 17: Inspection was done at shops and restaurants under Dhalbhumgarh block of Ghatshila sub-division for illegal sale of edible oil and spices on Tuesday.

Following instructions of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Ghatshila Satyaveer Rajak, district food security officer, Mohammed Manjar Hussain checked license, registration certificates of operators of shops/establishments along with samples of mustard oil were taken from license holders M/s Vivek Kumar Agarwal, Dhalbhumgarh and M/s Vinay Enterprises, Dhalbhumgarh.

Surprise inspection was done of Johar restaurant located in Chirugoda under Dhalbhumgarh area. During the inspection, kitchen and store room of the concerned restaurant were checked and samples of two different spices were taken. The sample taken by the District Food Safety Officer will be sent to the food laboratory for examination.

The Sub-Divisional Officer, Ghatshila appealed to the operators of various food shops and establishments running under the subdivision area, not to sell any food items without license. During the investigation, strict action will be taken against such unlicensed operators as per rules.
