Jamshedpur, February 7: Kasidih High School organised a Choral Recitation, Declamation, and Elocution Competition on Friday, celebrating the power of language, literature, and expression. Students from different classes participated enthusiastically, showcasing their speaking skills, confidence, and creativity.
The event featured choral recitation, where groups of students presented poems in coordinated rhythm and voice, declamation performances highlighting famous speeches and ideas, and elocution contests in which students shared original thoughts with clarity and confidence. The programme aimed to encourage effective communication, critical thinking, and appreciation for literature among students.
The competition was graced by the presence of the chief guest, A. F. Madon, Administrator of the JEM Foundation. Addressing the students, he emphasised the importance of language as a medium of communication as well as a means to express ideas, emotions, and creativity.
The performances were judged by an experienced panel comprising Pratibha Singh, Senior English Faculty, DAV Bistupur; Ritu Asthana, Moderator, Loyola School; and Suparna Roy, Vice-Principal, DBMS, Kadma. The judges appreciated the participants for their articulation, confidence, and understanding of literary expression.
In the choral recitation category, Class III ‘C’ emerged as the winner, while Class V ‘B’ secured the runner-up position. In the elocution competition, Arushi Kumari of Class VIII ‘B’ won first prize, with Anshika Singh of Class VII ‘D’ as runner-up. In the declamation category, Ananya Singh of Class IX ‘C’ was declared the winner, while Aradhya Singh of Class XI A1 and Razina Khanam of Class XI C2 shared the runner-up position.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Head of the Department, who acknowledged the support of the chief guest, judges, teachers, and students.
