Puducherry: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) officially took the reins of power in Puducherry on Wednesday as veteran leader N. Rangasamy assumed office as Chief Minister for a record-breaking fifth time. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailasanathan administered the oath of office and secrecy during a high-profile ceremony at the Puducherry Lok Bhavan.
A Stronger Alliance Cabinet
Rangasamy begins his second consecutive term as the head of the NDA government, signaling continued political stability for the Union Territory. Alongside him, two prominent leaders were inducted into the new Cabinet:

A. Namassivayam (BJP): The senior BJP MLA took oath as a minister, representing the party’s growing influence in the UT.

Malladi Krishna Rao (AINRC): The veteran AINRC leader joins the front bench of the administration.
Sources within the alliance indicate that a ministry expansion will follow shortly, with three additional cabinet slots expected to be filled as per the seat-sharing agreement between the AINRC and BJP.
Mandate for Stability
The NDA secured a comfortable majority in the 30-member Assembly. Within the coalition:

All India N.R. Congress (AINRC): Emerged as the dominant force with 12 MLAs.
