Jamshedpur, Jan 24: Karim City College’s Geography Department electrified students with its 16th Annual Workshop on Celestial and Meteorological Observation, transforming complex weather science into an engaging learning experience.
Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz and Head of Geography Dr. Ale Ali spearheaded the event, focusing on critical meteorological instruments. “Meteorological observation is essentially evaluating atmospheric elements,” explained Dr. Ali, highlighting the workshop’s scientific core.
Dr. Alok Kumar Chaubey simplified meteorology’s essence, defining it as the “science of atmosphere” and emphasizing weather forecasting’s significance. Experts like Dr. Surabhi Sinha elaborated on specialized equipment like rain gauges, while Shobha Muwal decoded barometric pressure measurement.
Dr. Pasarul Islam showcased an impressive array of celestial monitoring tools, including telescopes, sundials, thermometers, windvanes, GPS, anemometers and binoculars. This comprehensive demonstration provided students unprecedented insights into atmospheric and astronomical observation techniques.
Featuring distinguished faculty from Karim City College and Workers College, the workshop epitomized interdisciplinary learning. Dr. Farzana Anjum concluded the session, ensuring students gained comprehensive understanding of meteorological sciences.
