Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy delivered a powerful tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, asserting that had Netaji succeeded in liberating India, the nation would have remained undivided. “If the country had been run according to Netaji’s 1937 planning commission, India would have developed and progressed more,” Rai emphasized.

Highlighting Netaji’s extraordinary popularity, Roy noted, “When communication was limited, every child in India knew about Netaji.” After garlanding Netaji’s statue at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Maidan in Aam Bagan, Sakchi, he inaugurated a pictorial brochure documenting the freedom movement.

Roy criticized the current state of the ground, stating, “Tata Steel has developed many grounds but left this one in disrepair.” He committed to beautifying the space, proposing a 30-minute light and sound program to educate people about Netaji’s vision, contributions and legacy.

The MLA also reflected on historical what-ifs, suggesting that without America’s atomic bombing of Nagasaki-Hiroshima in 1945, India would have achieved independence earlier. Netaji’s iconic slogans “Jai Hind” and “Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe azadi dunga” continue to resonate, embodying his revolutionary spirit.
