Ranchi, April 22: Kalpana Murmu Soren, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, will file nomination for Gandey seat on April 29.
Kalpana Soren has now become an active part of politics especially with impressive speech at the Ulgulan Maharally on Sunday.
It may be noted that BJP has made Dilip Verma its candidate for the Gandey assembly by-election. Gandey by-election is to be held on 20th May.
Just a few days after Hemant’s arrest, Kalpana has joined politics and now she talks eye to eye with the BJP government at the Centre.
Gandey assembly seat of Giridih district has become vacant after the resignation of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed. On December 31, a notification from the Assembly Secretariat said that the public is being informed that the Jharkhand Assembly Speaker has accepted the resignation of Gandey MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed. This seat is vacant from December 31, 2023.
