Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) today said it was neither going to support Congress nor BJP in case the party wins seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
“Our decision is very much clear, we will neither go with Congress nor support BJP at the Centre, if voted to power in Jharkhand, ” party’s sitting MP and candidate from Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency in the general elections Dr Ajay Kumar said during a press conference on Saturday.
The JVM did not have any plans to establish itself in New Delhi and decided to restrict itself to Jharkhand to ensure an all round and rapid development of the state and its people, Kumar said.
In the absence of the proposed Third Front, he said the JVM would follow the decision taken by Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD) to ensure fast growth of the state.
Our neighbouring state Orissa has witnessed a rapid growth under the Patnaik-headed BJD government, said Kumar.
Oozing confidence that JVM, which is contesting all the 14 parliamentary seats in the state on its own, would perform well in the poll, the JVM leader claimed that regional parties like JVM and BJD only can take up local issues seriously on the floor of the Parliament.
Criticising the BJP and Congress for ignoring the issues of the state, Kumar said BJP was bent upon to foment communalism and casteism to win the election.
The JVM has lodged complain with the Election Commission against the BJP for spreading canard about the party, he said.
The BJP has been spreading rumours in minority pockets that JVM, if it would win seats, would support a government to be formed by NDA while it was driving a wedge in the society on caste line in rural pockets, the MP alleged.
He also described BJPs Prime-ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s public meeting here on 10th April last as a ‘flop show’.
Among those present in the conference included former MLA Sanatan Manjhi, Firoz Khan, Dr Nassar Firdausi, Gurmukh Singh Mukhe, Jatashankar Pandey and CH Rammurthy.
