JNAC team witnesses junk reuse in city, workshop today

Jamshedpur: A team of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) led by special officer Sanjay Kumar visited various places across the city to witness recycling of scrap into beautiful and useful utility items. It visited KMPM Vocational College, Bistupur and JS Tarapore School, Dhatkidih, among other places and praised the efforts put in by the students to ensure optimum use of discarded materials.
At KMPM College, the team saw a metal filter made of bottles, solar car made of junk and RO System made of corn waste and pebbles. At JH Tarapore, the team saw the reuse of old tyres, drums, gallons and bottles. Tyres were here used as settee and flower pot decoration.
Kumar said many social organizations were doing a good job recycling junk into useful items in offices and households. A list of such people and outfits is being prepared for their felicitation on the concluding day of Kabad Mahotsava (junk fest) being celebrated by the JNAC, said Kumar.
Kumar said a workshop titled �Waste to Wealth� will be held at JNAC office in Sakchi on Wednesday from 11 am to 3 pm. Many researchers, students and specialists would be participating in the workshop. The programme is open for all, he said.
