JNAC SO chairs meeting on building safety in Jamshedpur airport area

Jamshedpur, Oct 21: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Special Officer (SO) Sanjay Kumar convened a meeting regarding safety of buildings in Sonari Airport area from the point of view of aviation and general safety. Representatives of various private residential societies of Sonari and Kadma, Sonari Airport officials and engineers of Tata Steel and JNAC were present at the meeting.

The SO said red lights should be installed on the top of buildings having more than two floors above ground floor (G plus two) and situated in Sonari Airport area from the safety point of view. The red lights should work round the clock and the photographs of their installation should be submitted in the JNAC office, said the SO.

Aviation officials said the buildings, mobile phone towers and chimneys in airport areas should be built only up to a limited height and red high beam lights should also be installed on their tops from security point of view. The engineers of Tata Steel, JNAC and local private residential societies inspected several buildings from safety point of view.
