Jamshedpur, July 6: A flying squad of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) conducted surprise raid in Golmuri market and the adjoining area on Wednesday. The officials seized single use plastic items including thermocol and non-woven plastic bags banned by the government. The traders were informed about the list of plastic items banned by the government and were also apprised of the hazardous impact of single use plastic on the environment.
A total of Rs 8100 was collected in fine from 17 shop owners accused of violating the ban order, sources said.
