RANCHI: Jharkhand Governer DrSayed Ahmed today administrated oath to Stephen Marandi as protem speaker of Jharkhand assembly.
Stephen Marandi MLA of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will perform the duties of the speaker till a new speaker is elected by the newly elected MLA�s.
Prof. Marandi who is a tribal leader from Santhal Pargana was one of the front line leaders in formation of Jharkhand State. He is a distinguished leader and won the Maheshpur assembly seat on JMM ticket.
Several leaders including Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, former Chief Minister Hemant Soren and C P Singh congratulated Marandi on anointment as the protem speaker.
As a protem speaker Prof Marandi will administrate oath to the newly elected MLA�s on the oncoming assembly session starting 6th January 2015.
