Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission gets chairman 

Ranchi, September 22: Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC), lying headless for the last 15 months, got its chairman on Thursday.  

Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais administered the oath of office and secrecy to retired High Court judge Amitabh Kumar Gupta as the chairman of Jharkhand Electricity Regulatory Commission at Raj Bhavan’s Janata Darbar. 

On this occasion, Governor and Chief Minister Hemant Soren greeted the newly appointed chairperson of JSERC. The post was vacant after the resignation of outgoing chairman Arvind Prasad in June last year. On September 9, the government appointed Justice Gupta. With this the quorum of the commission has been completed. On the occasion, Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Principal Secretary to Governor Dr. Nitin Kulkarni, Principal Secretary, Energy Department Avinash Kumar, Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan and many dignitaries and relatives of newly appointed Chairman of Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission. was present.

On May 19, two members to JSERC were appointed by the government.

Both the members (law and technology) of Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission were appointed. Retired Principal District Judge Mahendra Prasad has been made Member (Law) of Jharkhand Electricity Regulatory Commission, while Atul Kumar, Retired Project Director, Jharkhand Energy Transmission Corporation, was appointed Member (Technical).
