Jharkhand Guv, CM pay homage to martyred CRPF jawan

Ranchi, September 22: Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren reached the CRPF camp in Dhurva on Thursday and paid tribute to the martyred jawan of CRPF (190 Battalion) Chittaranjan Kumar by laying wreath on his body.

On the occasion, Governor Chief Minister consoled the families of martyred jawan Chittaranjan Kumar (33) and expressed deep condolences.

Chief Minister prayed to God to grant peace to the departed soul and patience to the bereaved family members. Chief Minister said that all possible help will be given by the state government to the families of the martyrs. He said that the martyrdom of Shri Chittaranjan Kumar can never be forgotten.

It may be known that in the encounter with Naxalites on Pratappur and Kunda border of Chatra district on Sunday, CRPF jawan Chittaranjan Kumar was injured due to bullet injuries, he was immediately airlifted by helicopter to Ranchi for better treatment and was admitted to Medica Hospital in Bariatu.

The injured personnel, identified as Chitranjan Kumar, had been airlifted to Ranchi and admitted to Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Superspecialty Hospital for better treatment. He had received bullet injuries on his leg and waist, the officer said.

“The jawan’s condition was stable for two days. However, his condition suddenly deteriorated on Wednesday night and he died during treatment around 11pm,” said CRPF commandant Manoj Kumar.

The last salute will be given to the jawan at the headquarters of CRPF 133 Battalion in Ranchi, he said.

Chitranjan was resident of Bihar’s Rajgir district. He is survived by his wife and two children. After the last salute, his body was sent to his native village in Rajgir district, the commandant said.
