Jharkhand Legislative Assembly officials review district development schemes in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 9: The Chairman of the District Council and Panchayati Raj Committee of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, MLA Ramdas Soren, along with Committee members MLAs Mangal Kalindi and Sameer Mohanty, conducted a comprehensive review of various departmental schemes during a meeting with district officials in Jamshedpur.

The meeting was aimed to assess the progress of these schemes and provide necessary guidance to the officials involved.

The meeting saw the participation of key officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer Piyush Sinha, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jaideep Tigga, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Majhi, and Director NEP Jyotsna Singh, along with several other departmental officials.

One of the primary discussions during the meeting centered around obtaining details of Zila Parishad-owned land across all the district’s blocks. Emphasizing the importance of these lands, which generate significant revenue for Zila Parishad through market complexes, wedding pavilions, and local markets in various blocks, the committee requested a list of lands where no construction by Zila Parishad has occurred to date.

Additionally, the meeting included a thorough review of schemes funded through the 15th Finance Commission, with a focus on assessing their progress and effectiveness.

Baharagora MLA directed the Forest Department to create an action plan aimed at preventing any loss of life or property caused by elephant incursions. This plan involves identifying areas with high elephant activity and implementing measures like constructing reservoirs and trenches and planting bamboo to deter elephants from entering residential areas.

Several other departments presented their progress reports during the meeting. The District Child Development Project Officer provided detailed information about the benefits offered to beneficiaries under schemes such as the Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana and the Chief Minister Kanya Daan Yojana. Additionally, the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department provided updates on the tap water scheme’s progress within the district.

The meeting also delved into the schemes and work progress of the District Council and Panchayati Raj Committee of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, covering areas such as Minor Irrigation, Health, Education, and more. Necessary instructions were provided to the officers present to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives.
