Jamshedpur: Marking the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, BJP leader and Sikh social worker Chanchal Bhatia donated blood, reinforcing the spirit of service and humanity associated with the festival.
On this significant day, which commemorates the establishment of the Khalsa Panth in 1699 and is also celebrated as a harvest festival across India, Bhatia undertook his 28th blood donation. The gesture highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation as a noble social responsibility.
He was felicitated by Surinder Singh, who presented him with a shawl and a floral bouquet. Following the donation, the blood centre honored him with a memento and an official certificate in recognition of his continued contribution.
Medical Officer Sanjay Kumar from MGM Medical College extended an invitation to Bhatia to visit MGM Hospital and observe its operations. He emphasized that blood collected through such community-driven initiatives is provided free of cost to patients in need, ensuring better access to life-saving treatment.
Several prominent individuals were present to encourage the initiative, including former MLA Kunal Sarangi, along with Shailesh Gupta, Jagjit Singh, Indrajit Singh, Sunny Singh, Tarun Kumar, and Lovely Gill.
