Jharkhand CM meets NEML for increasing farmers income

Action plan to be submitted for digital marketing of forest, agriculture produce

Ranchi, February 9: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren held a meeting with NCDEX e-markets limited (NEML), an integrated e-market platform for an action plan suiting betterment of farmers and agriculture in the state.

. The meeting focused on farmers’ welfare in the state and increasing the income of farmers. In the meeting, Hemant Soren told the officials that the government is constantly trying to increase the income of the farmers.

“There is a need to prepare better market management so that the farmers of Jharkhand can get a fair price for the goods produced by them. The facility of digital marketing should also be made available for online sale of vegetables produced by the farmers. Under the NeML pilot project, four to five places should be selected soon and a better action plan should be prepared and the report submitted to the concerned department,” said Soren.

The Chief Minister directed the officers of NeML to enhance the capacity of the employees of the farmer’s producers company and the farmers by training them on how to use modern techniques from time to time.

The Chief Minister said that forest produce is found in abundance in the state. NEML should coordinate with the Sidho-Kanho Agriculture and Forest Produce State Cooperative Union Ltd. for the purchase and sale of minor forest produce and provide better market management facilities to the farmers.

On this occasion, Mrigank Paranjpe, Managing Director and CEO, NEML also placed a power point presentation regarding the action plan before the Chief Minister. He informed NEML in partnership with the Jharkhand Government wants to play its role in increasing the income of the farmers of the state.

He said that NEML will work with commitment to bring positive change in the standard of living of lakhs of farmers of the state by using modern technology.
