DBMS English School Recognises Achievers at Annual Prize Night

Jamshedpur: The Annual Prize Night of D.B.M.S. English School was celebrated with great enthusiasm and splendour on Saturday, at the school auditorium. The event recognised and rewarded students for their achievements in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities.

Dignitaries grace the occasion

The programme was graced by chief guest Dr. Rahul Kumar Shukla, Convener – XAT and Admissions at XLRI – Xavier School of Management. The event began with safety instructions by Shantanu Jha, followed by an introduction by Rishit of Class XII A.

The academic procession of rankers was led by school coordinators, Principal  Rajani Shekhar, and Vice-Principal Mr. P.K. Sahu, lending a ceremonial touch to the evening.

Traditional opening and school report

The welcome address by Sharanya Jha was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest and dignitaries. A graceful prayer dance by students added to the cultural charm of the evening.

The chief guest was introduced by Vritti Agarwal and honoured with a sapling. Principal  Rajani Shekhar then presented the annual school report, highlighting achievements across various fields.

Class XII students shine

The highlight of the evening was the felicitation of Class XII achievers. Richa Arvind Singh received multiple honours, including the All Rounder Award (Commerce). Jesvin Nagi secured the All Rounder Award (Science).

Other prominent awardees included Supriya Deo, Mayank Raj, Ayaan Karim, Harshit Vig, Siddhi Nagelia, Siddhant Ray, Shubho Ghosh, Prachi Agarwal, Shaurya Kumar Jaiswal, and Aditya Pratap Sinha.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rahul Kumar Shukla encouraged students to strive for excellence and make their alma mater proud. A memento was presented to him as a token of appreciation.

Awards for classes VIII to X

Awards for Classes VIII to X were distributed by members of the School Managing Committee, including  Archana Ramesh,  Priya Nagrajan, and  Lalitha Sheshadri.

In Class X, Adrika Chandra emerged as a top achiever, receiving multiple awards including the G. Madhav Prabhu Memorial Trophy. Siddhant Jha was honoured with the All Rounder Trophy along with a cash prize. Other achievers included Aarav Jhunjhunwala, Devansh Kedia, Janvi Agarwal, Ayush Suren, and Akshat Modi.

Class XI awards were presented by Vice-Principal Mr. P.K. Sahu. Notable awardees included Vansh Jawanpuria, Kumar Avinash, Swastika, and Kunal Khemka for their academic excellence.

General special awards were conferred by Principal  Rajani Shekhar. Vansh Jawanpuria, Nikunj Agarwal, and Adarsh Kabra were recognised for outstanding board results.

Siddhant Jha received the Best Speaker Award, while Blue House was declared the Best House. Creative contributions for backdrop design were credited to Angelina De Agarwal, Saurav Mishra, Rishit, and Soumya Shaw.

A special felicitation was accorded to  Shyamala Srinivasan for her dedicated service to the institution.

The valedictory speech was delivered by Head Girl Richa Arvind Singh, followed by a vote of thanks by Ania Gupta. The grand evening concluded with the school anthem and the ceremonial exit of the academic procession.
