Ranchi, February 28: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren gave a big gift to lakhs of state government employees by launching the State Employee Health Insurance Schemes.
Addressing a program organized by the health department in the state assembly auditorium Chief Minister said that just as our government has restored the old pension scheme and has worked to provide financial support to the state employees even after retirement, in the same way, through the State Employee Health Insurance Scheme, this big step has been taken towards bearing the entire cost of proper treatment of the employees.
“Now government employees of any category of the state do not need to worry about the cost of treatment of their illness. Through this scheme, the government will bear the cost of their entire treatment,” said Soren.
“People face a lot of problems on the financial front in the course of treatment of their disease. Because of this, our government is engaged in a campaign to improve the health system, so that people can get the best possible treatment at the least cost,” added Soren.
The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is a backward and poor state facing challenges of paucity of resources.
“But despite all this, the government is trying to root out various problems here. In this episode, the work of strengthening the health system is going on at a fast pace amidst limited resources,” added Soren.
Incidentally, State Employees Health Insurance Scheme will be implemented from 1 March 2025.
In the first phase, all the working state employees are going to get the benefit of this scheme. Whereas for other category employees, this scheme will be implemented from 1 May 2025.
The benefit of this scheme will be available to the employees of all the services of the state, members of the Legislative Assembly, retired employees, family pension recipients and their dependents, former members of the State Legislative Assembly, serving / retired officers willing to All India Services, regular employees working / retired in various boards, corporations, institutions, institutions of the state government, working / retired teachers and non-teaching staff of universities and colleges and registered advocates.
Under this, beneficiaries will be able to avail cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in any hospital in the country included in the panel of the Health Department. In case of serious diseases, medical expenses up to Rs 10 lakh will also be borne. If there is any additional expense in the treatment, it will be provided from the corpus fund. At the same time, in special circumstances, the facility of air ambulance will also be made available to the beneficiaries.
