Jharkhand CM flags off Vaccine Express, 60 mobile vans to speed up immunisation campaign

Ranchi, September 28: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday flagged off the Covid-19 Vaccine Express in Jharkhand from  Dhurwa, in  Ranchi. 

The Vaccine Express is a joint initiative of state health department and CARE India which was 60 mobile vaccine express being distributed to 24 districts. 


Speaking on the occasion, Hemant Soren said that 60 mobile vaccination vans are being dispatched to different districts of the state today with the aim of speeding up the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the state. All these vans will serve as “Tika Express” to take the vaccination campaign to the masses. The Chief Minister said that all preparations have been made by the state government to deal with the possible challenge arising out of Covid third wave.The vaccine express will get those vulnerable people who have been left out of the vaccination campaign get the jabs at their homes. 


The mobile vaccine express will start operation in the district from Tuesday itself. With the help of these “Vaccine Expresses” it will be easier for people to get the vaccine. This facility will be available to the people at their homes only.

The Chief Minister said that till now more than 1 crore 70 lakh people across the state have been vaccinated against COVID-19. About 40 lakh people have also received the second dose of the vaccine. The Chief Minister said that in order to reach the maximum number of people in the state, the vaccination campaign has been launched today in the state with the help of CARE India. The Chief Minister said that even earlier during the period of the Covid-19 transition, the State Government has worked to reach out to the people through new programs to speed up the vaccination campaign.

Hemant Soren said that very limited medicines are available in the country and the world to avoid the infection of Covid-19 and vaccine are needed to avoid this infection. “All of us will get protection from Covid-19 by applying the vaccine, as well as by using our own understanding and discretion, infection can also be avoided by adopting Covid appropriate behaviour.”

The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state, the danger has not been averted, do not take the infection lightly. and take essential preventive measures like face mask, social distancing, sanitizing hands, etc.

State Health Minister Banna Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Principal Secretary of Health Department Shri Arun Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey and CARE India officials were also present on the occasion.
