Jharkhand CM asks officials to know local language, step out of Babusahab image 

Ranchi, June 24: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren exhorted the officials to take the government schemes to the last mile to help villagers benefit as the state can only develop with the villages.

Addressing a seminar on administrative capacity development organised by department of personnel, administrative reforms and Rajbhasa, Soren said that all government officials are an integral part of the government.

“Your role is important in the all-round development of the state. Only by winning the mind and trust of the villagers will we be able to run all the schemes successfully.  Jharkhand is different from other state as each of the five divisions have varied problems,” said Soren.

“Our state is mostly of tribal, Dalit, backward and minority dominated. We need to move forward by strengthening the systems according to the different geographical environment and language, culture of this state. The officials should be aware of the local language and ensure that middleman does not dominate due to lack of knowledge of the language,” said Soren.

Stressing that government has sympathies towards the farmers, laborers and the needy of the state, Soren said that it the officers responsibility to guide such sections of people towards prosperity and happiness and role becomes important in giving better direction to the state.

Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam appreciated the development work done by all these office bearers appointed in the year 2020 during the Covid pandemic and during panchayat polls.

He asked them to ensure employment to the laborers and the needy in their respective blocks and work areas and prevent migration of laborers from the state.

Some of the Jharkhand Administrative Services officials who were appointed in 2020 narrated their experience before the minister and the dignitaries.

On this occasion, Block Development Officer (Dumri Block) Ekta Verma, Block Development Officer (Gudabandha Block) Smita Nagesia, Block Development Officer (Barhi Block) Christina Richa Indwar, Executive Magistrate (Garhwa) Ashok Kumar Bharti took up Corona in their respective block areas. Despite the circumstances at the time of the impact of the transition, the Chief Minister was apprised of the development work, experience and suggestions made by making the general public aware.
