Jamshedpur, June 24: The current status of the Urban Primary Health Center (UPHC) at Mango Gandhi Maidan is deplorable. West Jamshedpur Assembly constituency’s MLA representative Ansar Khan sent a memorandum addressed to Health Minister Banna Gupta to his office-in-charge Sanjay Tiwari and the Health Department representative Dinesh Agrawal. The memorandum detailed the problems being faced by people at the UPHC and urged for immediate solution to the problems mentioned. The memorandum also demanded the installation of a solar system at the UPHC.
A letter was also handed to ANM Piyali Mahto at the UPHC addressed to the Public Health Manager Suman Kumar Mandal.
Ansar stated that people visiting the UPHC faced several problems. He said, “To get first hand information of the complaints, I visited the UPHC and found a long and winding queue of women who had gone there for their children’s vaccinations. I also saw during the visit that power supply was erratic and when it did appear, the fans rotated slowly which added to the woes of the staff and the visitors. The acute power supply problem could only be resolved with the installation of a solar power unit.”
Dinesh Agarwal, the representative of the Health Department, assured to solve the problems mentioned by taking up the issue with the Civil Surgeon soon.
