Jewelry worth Rs 3.5 lakh stolen in Adityapur

Jamshedpur: Thieves took away jewelry worth Rs 3.50 lakh from a shop in Adityapur late yesterday night. The jewelry shop, Muskan Jevar, is situated near the Adityapur police station on the main road. An FIR was lodged in this connection by the owner of the shop.

Local residents alleged that police inaction had led to a spurt in theft and other crimes in the area. They said police should step up patrolling to stop recurrence of such crimes.

Sources said the thieves broke into the shop by breaking the shutter and locks. The shop is situated in Shiv Mandir Colony. Security guards were not around when the incident took place.

Local residents said many such incidents had taken place earlier. They said more police jawans should be deployed in the area.
