
Jamshedpur, May 25: The Jamshedpur Eye Hospital (JEH), a primary level eye-care centre established in 1961, has grown into a super specialty eye-care centre. �Eliminating avoidable visual impairment for all� remains our Vision. JEH is constantly striving to achieve this by continuous improvement in knowledge, technology, practice & infrastructure.
JEH is striving hard to render best eye care services to the citizens of Jamshedpur & around at affordable cost , so that the people will not have to go outside Jamshedpur for specialized eye treatment. In last few years JEH has become an �Advanced Center for Cataract Surgery� and is performing almost all types of challenging cataract surgeries including �Paediatric cataract�. It has added several Special Clinics & Subspecialty treatments, (which were not available earlier at Jamshedpur) by recruiting trained ophthalmologists& optometrists in these fields. They have been trained at different prestigious institutes of India like LV Prasad – Hyderabad, Shankara Nethralaya – Kolkata, Aravind Eye Hospital – Madurai, Sushutra Eye Hospital, – Kolkata. To name a few, Dr Ravi D Barbhaya & Dr Rashmi Mittal for Cornea, Catract & Refractive surgery, Dr Kumar Saket & Dr Arun Paney for Retina, Uvea & Trauma, Dr Malay Kumar Dwivedi for Paediatric & Strbismus & Dr Nitin G Dhira for Cataract & Glaucoma. Dr Shanti Porh & Dr R B Singh are our Comprehensive Ophthalmologists.
To improve patient�s facilities, JEH has renovated it�s OPD, Doctors Chamber and today it has completed the �Renovation of General ward�. In the next phase, renovation of Operation Theatre Complex & Cabin will be taken up. OT complex will have four modular OTs & CSSD with latest equipment. Renovation of all the clinical areas will be as per NABH compliance as our core value remains �quality eye care �at affordable cost. Presently JEH IS providing facility of Free Cataract Surgery for BPL card holders & patients selected from rural camps. JEH is going to extend �Cataract surgery at concessional rate� to the patients, belonging to the other under privileged categories also.
Ruchi Narendran, President JEH, launched this initiative and it would set another mile stone in the history of JEH�s commitment towards achieving its goal of �Eliminating avoidable visual impairment for all�.
The function was attended by Rakeshwar Pandey and BK Dinda, from JEH Union, JEH Management Committee members, all JEH Staff and Ophhalmologists of TMH & Tata Motors, Heads of other hospitals, guests and representatives from the media.
