Jamshedpur, July 2: The court of Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate of East Singhbhum Vijaya Jadhav ordered a stay on the implementation of hike in rent of shops falling under Jamshedpur Sairat Markets till further orders, sources said on Saturday.
Sources said the court has formed a committee comprising ADM Law and Order, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Special Officer of JNAC, Circle Officer of Golmuri-cum-Jugsalai and presidents of Sakchi and Kadma market committees. The committee has been directed to review the rent hike by holding a meeting and submit a report to the DC, sources said.
Recently, a delegation of traders of city Sairat markets had met the DC and demanded revocation of the government decision to enhance shop rent.
