Jamshedpur, July 31: Traffic woes of Mango residents may soon come to an end as a new small roundabout is almost ready at Mango Chowk. With the new roundabout in place, the width of the road has increased and traffic flow has become smoother than before, said a cross section of commuters.
Due to the new roundabout, the chronic problem of traffic jam is also expected to get resolved soon as there is more space for vehicles to negotiate around the roundabout at Mango Chowk. Earlier, the area encompassing Shaheed Khudiram Bose statue and park was bigger and it occupied a sizeable portion of the crossroads.
Sources said the roundabout has still few days left for complete renovation before it becomes fully functional. Due to the absence of a roundabout, traffic jams had become a permanent feature of Mango Chowk.
With the view to solve the problem, Tata Steel UISL has planned and built the roundabout and shifted the Khudiram Bose statue from its former place, sources said.
