12 Years of Modi Govt: BJP Lists Unprecedented Funding Growth for Jharkhand

Jamshedpur: Marking the completion of 12 years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central Government, Jharkhand BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu termed the period from 2014 to 2026 a historic journey of public trust, good governance, development, and welfare.

Sahu was speaking at a press conference, organized under the aegis of the BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar at Chitragupta Bhawan in Sonari, on Thursday. The event was attended by senior BJP leaders, including Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu, and Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Sanjeev Sinha.

Sahu emphasized that voters consistently reposed their faith in PM Modi across the 2014, 2019, and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, proving that modern India prioritizes a work culture of transparency and result-oriented governance.

Sahu highlighted that the government successfully implemented the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” to benefit the last person in the social hierarchy. He said that around 25 crore people were lifted out of poverty in the last 12 years; Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) eliminated fake beneficiaries, and ₹4.31 lakh crore was prevented from falling into the wrong hands. The BJP leader also said that there have been significant upgradations in the infrastructure sector over the last 12 years.

Sahu also detailed the financial backing and development push Jharkhand received under the Modi administration. “During 2004–2014, Jharkhand received ₹56,090 crore in tax devolution. Under the Modi government, this skyrocketed to ₹2,26,444 crore between 2014 and 2024. As of June 3, 2026, the figure reached ₹3,17,069 crore—a 465% increase over the pre-2014 era. Central grants to the state rose from ₹28,509 crore (2004–14) to ₹1,04,373 crore (2014–24), and are projected to reach ₹1,30,629 crore for the 2024–27 period,” he added.

The State BJP Chief highlighted the administration’s focus on marginalized communities and regional growth. “An allocation of ₹79,150 crore was made under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan to benefit 63,000 tribal villages. Another ₹1,360 crore was deployed for primitive tribal groups via the PM-JANMAN scheme,” Sahu said.
