Jamshedpur: Young man suffers severe burn injuries after contact with 11,000 volt power line

Seraikela, Sept 29: A 29 year old young man, Jagarnath Gope of Murup village under Saraikela police station sustained severe burn injuries when he came in contact with a live 11,000 volts power line at around 9 am on Thursday. He was rushed to the Saraikela Sadar Hospital where, due to non-availability of burn unit, he was administered first aid and referred to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur.

According to information, Jagarnath Gope was on his way to collect leaves for his goats. The stick he was carrying to pluck leaves was wet and it came in contact with the high tension live wire resulting in his getting scalded. When reports last came in, Jagarnath was undergoing treatment at MGM Hospital where his condition was stated to be serious.
