Jamshedpur: The Department of Education at Jamshedpur Women’s University celebrated World Earth Day with a series of vibrant programs under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr. Ela Kumar. This year’s global theme, “Our Planet, Our Power,” focused on sustainable energy practices and environmental conservation.
Students Lead Awareness Through Arts
Students from B.Ed. Semester I spearheaded the event with performances designed to spark environmental consciousness. The program featured:
- Performances: Thought-provoking poems, a high-impact nukkad natak (street play), and a dramatic skit highlighting urgent environmental crises.
- Multimedia Message: A compelling video titled “How the Earth Would Look After 10 Years If We Fail to Act Now” provided a sobering look at the consequences of climate inaction.
- Cultural Displays: Melodious musical acts and vibrant dance presentations captivated the audience, while M.Ed. Semester 1 students delivered speeches on the significance of the day.
Commitment to Action
Beyond the stage, B.P.Ed. students conducted a plantation drive on campus, moving from awareness to direct environmental action. Vice Chancellor Dr. Ela Kumar and senior faculty members urged the students to adopt sustainable lifestyles and take personal responsibility for the planet’s future.
