Jamshedpur, Apr 15: A 35-year-old woman, Vinita Singh, died under mysterious circumstances on Monday night in Baghra village, under Bodam police station limits. Her husband, Sadanand Singh, claimed she fell asleep intoxicated after work and was unresponsive when he tried to wake her for dinner around 10 PM. She was later declared dead.
The body was sent for postmortem at MGM Medical College on Tuesday. Police stated that no external injury marks or signs of illness were found. They are awaiting the postmortem report to determine the cause of death.
However, Vinita’s uncle, Sarveshwar Singh from Chaliyama village (Nimdih PS), alleged foul play. “She had frequent disputes with her husband. I was informed about her death by a relative, not the family. I believe my niece was beaten to death by her husband,” he said. Sarveshwar intends to file an FIR against Sadanand Singh, alleging murder. Vinita leaves behind one daughter and three sons.
