CGPC Jamshedpur seeks police coordination on community matters

Jamshedpur, July 7: A delegation of the Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (CGPC), the apex body representing the Sikh community in the Kolhan region, met the newly appointed Seraikela Superintendent of Police, Manoj Swargiary, on Tuesday.

Led by CGPC President Sardar Bhagwan Singh, the delegation congratulated the SP on taking charge and discussed issues concerning the Sikh community.

The delegation informed the SP about the 34 Gurudwaras functioning across the Kolhan region and requested that any community-related matters reaching police stations be referred to the respective Gurudwara committees. They explained that local Gurudwara committees generally resolve family and social disputes, while unresolved cases are taken up by the CGPC for final settlement.

The members also briefed the SP on the committee’s religious, social and welfare activities and assured him of the Sikh community’s full cooperation in maintaining peace and harmony.

SP Swargiary appreciated the initiative and expressed confidence in the community’s support in maintaining law and order. He agreed to the proposal of involving Gurudwara committees in community-related matters.

Among those present were General Secretary Amarjit Singh, Gurcharan Singh Billa, Senior Vice President Sukhvinder Singh Raju, Senior Advisor Parvinder Singh Sohal, Surendra Singh Shinde, Amrik Singh and Raju Pandey.
