Jamshedpur, Feb 19: Vikram Sharma, the mentor of Jamshedpur gangster Akhilesh Singh, has been acquitted in a case involving the use of fake documents for the purchase of a plot and flat. The police had filed a case against Vikram Sharma based on allegations of acquiring properties using forged documents. Vikram Sharma, who was personally present in court, has been acquitted due to a lack of evidence after a thorough examination.

During the legal proceedings, the defense argued that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate the charges against Vikram Sharma. The court deliberated on the matter, and ultimately, the acquittal was granted.

Harish Singh, who was also arrested in connection with the case, appeared in court through video conferencing.

Vikram Sharma, once a fugitive, was apprehended by the Jamshedpur Police on April 15, 2017, from a flat in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. His association with gangster Akhilesh Singh and alleged involvement in various criminal activities had led to his arrest. The police had discovered incriminating documents during the investigation, including three PAN cards issued in Vikram Sharma’s name based on falsified information.

One of the recovered properties linked to Vikram Sharma was a flat in the Ashiana area under the jurisdiction of MGM police station in Mango. Documents found in Akhilesh Singh’s residence in Srishti Garden Vihar, Birsanagar, included PAN cards and an Aadhaar card with Vikram Sharma’s name, along with a vehicle (Creta) associated with fraudulent documentation.
