Jamshedpur: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sanjay Kumar has lodged an online First Information Report (FIR) with the Sonari police station in Jamshedpur against Udaynidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. The FIR alleges that Udaynidhi Stalin made objectionable statements regarding Sanatan dharma during a public event on Saturday.
Sanjay Kumar, who heads the VHP’s Jharkhand state propaganda cell, has claimed in the FIR that Udaynidhi Stalin made comments suggesting that Sanatan dharma should be eradicated in a manner similar to how various diseases like dengue, malaria, and COVID-19 are being eliminated worldwide.
“The followers of Sanatan dharma, like myself, feel vulnerable following Udaynidhi Stalin’s statement. From his remarks, it appears that he may be a follower of Christianity. Moreover, he has called upon Christians to eliminate the followers of Sanatan dharma, equating it to an infectious disease,” alleges Sanjay Kumar in the FIR.
Sanjay Kumar further states, “The impact of Udaynidhi Stalin’s statement on the followers of Sanatan dharma remains to be seen, but such comments are a grave insult to Sanatan dharma, which is considered the oldest religion in the world.”
Udaynidhi Stalin, who also serves as a minister in the Tamil Nadu government, is alleged to have called for the eradication of the 80 crore followers of Sanatan dharma by likening them to severe infectious diseases.
In response to the FIR, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonari police station, Vishnu Raut, stated that he would initiate appropriate action after reviewing the online complaint lodged by VHP leader Sanjay Kumar.
The allegations and subsequent FIR have sparked a contentious debate, and authorities are expected to investigate the matter thoroughly to determine the veracity of the claims and the implications of Udaynidhi Stalin’s alleged statements on religious harmony and freedom of speech.
