Jamshedpur veteran Congress leader Rizvi Chhabban passes away

Jamshedpur, May 19: Veteran Congress leader from Kolhan Syed Raza Abbas Rizvi Chhabban passed away on Thursday after a long battle against diabetes. With his death, an era of Congress politics in the city came to an end. He breathed his last at his residence in Kadma. Rizvi, who was the flag bearer of Congress throughout his life, never compromised on values. He was 70 years old and was suffering from severe diabetes. In the presence of senior party leaders he was laid to rest at Dhatkidih Kabristan.  

He is survived by his four sons Rais Rizvi, Anees Rizvi, Zafar Rizvi, Mazhar Rizvi and a daughter Kishwar Kazmi. After the news of Chhabban’s death, there was a wave of mourning in the political corridor of Jamshedpur. Chhabban, served as vice chairman cum acting chairman of minority department of Jharkhand State Congress Party.
