Jamshedpur, Feb 16: A delegation of members of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and several other unions of retailers and wholesalers of foodgrains, fruits and vegetables met the MLAs of Kolhan on Thursday and demanded revocation of the Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing Bill 2022.

The traders met Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar, Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi and Ichagarh MLA Savita Mahato and gave them memoranda of their demands.
The traders demanded rollback of the Bill in the larger interest of the business community and the people of the state. They said the two per cent Mandi tax proposed to be imposed by the state government was not justified. They termed the Bill as an anti-people and ‘black law’.
Leading the traders, SCCI president Vijay Anand Moonka said, “We are firm on our demand for taking back this Bill. We will not step back and the agitation will continue till our demands are fulfilled by the state government. All traders are united on this issue. We are also getting the support of the people.”
Moonka said the Chamber was making every effort to get the controversial Bill withdrawn. He said the Chamber and other outfits met the MLAs and got assurance for taking a considerate view of their demands.
