Jamshedpur to host XAT 2026; exam on January 4

Candidates can download admit cards as over 1.3 lakh aspirants prepare for the national-level management entrance test.

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur will be one of the key cities hosting the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2026, which is scheduled to be conducted on January 4, 2026, in computer-based mode. Examination centres have been set up in Jamshedpur, Ranchi, and Dhanbad, making Jharkhand an important hub for the national-level management entrance test.

The XAT 2026 admit cards have been released, and candidates can download their hall tickets from the official website xatonline.in. As per available information, examination centres have been established in 108 cities across the country, primarily in locations where TCS online examination facilities are available.

Apart from Jharkhand, nearby cities such as Rourkela, Kolkata, Asansol, Patna, Balasore, Bhagalpur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Darbhanga, Dhenkanal, Muzaffarpur, and Sambalpur will also host the examination.

More than 1.30 lakh candidates are expected to appear for XAT 2026, although the organising committee has not yet issued an official confirmation regarding the exact number of applicants.

The XAT question paper will consist of four sections—Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. Candidates who qualify the written test will be shortlisted for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Final admission will be based on performance across all stages.

The XAT is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). XAT scores are accepted by XLRI and more than 160 leading management institutes across India for admission to postgraduate management programmes.
