Jamshedpur, Jan 2: A violent incident linked to a long-standing property dispute has come to light from the Bistupur police station area.
Saif Ali Khan, a resident of Dhatkidih Razaak Quarter, and his wife were allegedly attacked with a fibre pipe by his stepbrother, Sarfaraz Khan, on December 31, leaving both husband and wife injured.
According to Saif Ali Khan, the dispute over ancestral property has been continuing for a long time.
He alleged that his stepbrother’s wife, Ila Parveen, has been instigating the conflict, leading to repeated attacks on him.
Saif claimed that this was not the first such incident, stating that Sarfaraz had earlier attempted to kill him twice—once by attacking him with a sharp weapon and on another occasion by firing at him.
Complaints regarding those incidents were lodged with the police, but no arrest has been made so far.
Saif’s wife recounted that on the day of the incident, she received a phone call informing her that her husband had been attacked.
When she rushed out of the house, Sarfaraz allegedly arrived at the spot and assaulted her as well with a fibre rod, causing serious injuries.
Following the incident, the injured couple lodged a complaint at the Bistupur police station.
However, dissatisfied with the police response, both victims approached the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office on Friday and submitted a written complaint.
Saif Ali Khan said that the SSP took cognizance of the matter and assured a fair investigation and appropriate action.
The victim couple has demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and sought protection for their lives and property.
