Jamshedpur to host maiden conference on Child Neurology from July 18–20

Over 200 Pediatric Experts to Attend East Zone Neuropedicon and Jharkhand’s First Child Neurology Meet

Jamshedpur, July 17: The city is set to host a significant medical event focusing exclusively on child neurology—the 4th East Zone Neuropedicon, 1st Jharkhand Neuropedicon, and the Mid-Term CME of IAP Jamshedpur—from July 18 to 20 at Hotel Kannelite, Sakchi. The three-day event is being jointly organized by the Jharkhand Academy of Pediatric Neurology and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Jamshedpur branch.

In a press briefing on Thursday, Dr. Sudhir Mishra announced that this is the first-ever pediatric neurology conference in Jharkhand, aiming to strengthen knowledge and practices related to neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders in children.

Ahead of the main event, two pre-conference workshops will be held on Friday, July 18: EEG Interpretation in Children, vital for identifying pediatric brain conditions. Neurodevelopmental Disorders, focused on early diagnosis and appropriate referrals to therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and pediatric neurology.

“These workshops will offer practical training to help pediatricians in Jamshedpur and Jharkhand better detect and manage developmental issues in children, leading to more effective treatment outcomes,” said Dr. Mishra.

Dr. Preeti Srivastava highlighted that unlike general pediatric events, this conference is specifically focused on child neurology—a first for Jharkhand.

The main event will feature over 50 scientific sessions and 24 paper presentations, with speakers from across India.

The conference theme, “Building Networks: Bridging Gaps”, will explore disorders such as epilepsy, brain fever (encephalitis), autism, ADHD, movement disorders, and other childhood neurological conditions. Over 200 doctors from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Bengal, and the North-East are expected to attend.
